Fast, careful and fully documented

Water damage is stressful, and it usually happens at the worst possible time. The Restoration Crew removes the water, dries your home or business properly, and documents every step, so you know what happened, what we did, and why. We serve homeowners and businesses across Lynchburg and Forest, Roanoke, Hollins and Salem, Danville and Pittsylvania County, and Moneta and Smith Mountain Lake.

Our team lives by a simple rule: treat people the way we'd want to be treated. For a water emergency, that means we show up fast, explain things in plain language, and don't do or charge for work your home doesn't need.

Water emergency? We answer 24/7 and aim to be there in 2 hours

Water keeps spreading into drywall, subfloors and cabinets the longer it sits. That's why we answer water emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In most of our service areas, a crew is on site within 2 hours, often sooner, depending on where you are.

While you wait for us:

  • Shut off the water. Use the valve on the leaking fixture or appliance, or your home's main shutoff.
  • Stay safe around electricity. Keep away from water near outlets, cords and appliances. Only shut off power to the area if you can reach the breaker without standing in water.
  • Take photos and video of the water and the damage before anything is moved or thrown away.
  • Move valuables and electronics to a dry room if you can do it safely.
  • Don't use a household vacuum on water, and don't stand under a sagging ceiling.
  • If the water might be contaminated (a toilet overflow, sewer backup or outside floodwater), keep kids and pets away and tell us when you call. We handle contaminated-water jobs too.

How we restore water damage, step by step

Every job follows the same documented process, whether it's one bathroom or a whole floor.

  1. We take your call and dispatch a crew. We ask what happened, when you found it, and whether there are any safety concerns, then get a crew on the way.
  2. Assessment. We find the source of the water. If it can't be confirmed, we write "unknown" instead of guessing. We classify the water by category (clean, gray or contaminated) and class (how much was soaked), and moisture-map the floors, walls and ceilings to find water you can't see. Before any work starts, you get a clear explanation, an estimate, and a written authorization to sign.
  3. We set up your drying record. Each affected room is labeled, measured and photographed, with starting moisture and humidity readings. That record follows your job from start to finish.
  4. Water extraction. We remove standing water from floors and carpet. If carpet pad is soaked, we remove it.
  5. We remove only what can't be dried. Wet drywall, swollen cabinets or flooring that can't be saved comes out. Each removal is measured, photographed and explained in our notes.
  6. Cleaning. Affected areas get HEPA vacuuming and antimicrobial treatment where needed before drying begins.
  7. Structural drying. We set up commercial dehumidifiers and air movers, with airflow planned room by room.
  8. Regular moisture checks until dry. We come back to take new moisture readings and photos and adjust the equipment as the materials dry.
  9. Dry standard confirmed. Final readings show materials are dry to industry standard. We remove the equipment, take final photos, and leave your property clean, dry and ready for repairs.

Most drying takes anywhere from about 48 hours to a week, depending on how much water there was and which materials got wet.

IICRC-certified leaders and a year of hands-on training

Our management and every lead technician hold IICRC certification. The IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) sets the industry standards for water damage restoration. Every technician also completes our 1-year in-house training program, so the person drying your home knows how to read a moisture meter, place equipment, and judge when a material is truly dry.

We hold every job to the same written standards. Photos must show both the room and the meter readings, measurements are recorded to the nearest foot, and notes have to explain why work was done, not just what was done.

Insurance and detailed reports

We follow standard industry billing practices, and we're glad to answer your insurance adjuster's questions about our estimate, documentation and invoices. What really helps our customers is our reporting.

What our documentation includes:

  • The source of the water, found and recorded. Knowing the true source puts the facts on the table from day one.
  • Water category and class, with the reasoning behind them.
  • Moisture maps and readings from the first visit to the last, with photos of the meter readings.
  • Room-by-room measurements of everything removed: square feet of drywall and flooring, linear feet of baseboard and cabinets, exact counts of doors and fixtures. Never "about 100 square feet."
  • Equipment logs with the date each piece was placed and removed. If it wasn't on site, it isn't on the log.
  • Before, during and after photos of every stage.

This gives you and your adjuster a clear, factual record of what happened and what we did. With your OK, we send our written scope and reports to your adjuster and can keep your insurance agent updated on the job, so nobody is left guessing. We can also walk you through what we found, including where the water came from, so you can talk with your insurance agent about whether to file a claim. That decision is always yours.

Moisture reports. We also provide moisture reports as a paid service. Call (434) 489-1122 to ask about one.

We're a water mitigation company, not a public adjuster. We don't file or negotiate insurance claims for you, and we don't interpret your policy. Your insurance company decides what's covered, so we can't promise coverage, and you're responsible for any deductible under your policy.

Repairs: referrals to trusted local companies

Our focus is mitigation: getting the water out and the structure dry. We don't do repairs, and we don't perform, manage or guarantee repair work. When your property is dry, we can refer you to reputable, licensed local companies that do this kind of repair work all the time. You choose who to hire and contract with them directly. Because our report shows exactly what was removed, down to the square foot, their estimate can start from facts instead of guesswork.

Carpet and tile cleaning after drying

If your carpet or tile came through the water and is worth saving, our floor care team can clean it once everything is dry, so you don't need to find another company. Floor cleaning is booked as a scheduled appointment; our 24/7 response is for water emergencies only. See carpet cleaning and floor care and tile and grout cleaning.

Sewage and contaminated water

Not all water is the same. A sewer backup, an overflowing toilet, or floodwater from outside is classified as contaminated (Category 3) water, and it's handled differently from a clean supply-line leak. We take these jobs, and we follow our written procedures for them:

  • We classify the water first and explain what that means for your job.
  • We set up containment when it's needed. Plastic barriers and air filtration devices running under negative air pressure keep contaminants from spreading to unaffected rooms. We also protect contents and finishes that weren't touched by the water.
  • We remove contaminated materials that can't be cleaned, such as carpet pad, affected drywall and insulation, and dispose of them.
  • We clean before drying: HEPA vacuuming and antimicrobial cleaners or disinfectants on the remaining structure. Contents are cleaned or discarded depending on the contamination level.
  • We document all of it: the reason for containment, its size, the materials removed and the cleaning performed, with photos.

Found mold? Call us first

We're not mold specialists, and we don't do mold testing or mold abatement. But mold almost always starts with water, so if you find it, give us a call. We'll come out and check for water and moisture.

  • If materials are still wet, it's a water problem, and that's what we do. As part of our water mitigation work, wet materials that can't be dried come out, including any with mold on them. We remove them safely using containment and air-quality procedures, then dry the structure.
  • If nothing is wet, we'll tell you, and we'll refer you to a company that can help with the mold itself.

We always recommend a mold test after our work is completed, and we'll get you connected with a provider for that if needed.

Homes and businesses

Homes

We handle burst and leaking pipes, water heater and appliance failures, overflowing sinks and tubs, storm water and roof leaks, wet basements, and crawl spaces. Water under a house is easy to miss and doesn't dry well on its own, so we extract it, remove wet materials that can't be dried, and set up drying equipment in the crawl space just like we would in a living area. Lake houses and second homes are a common call for us too, since a leak in an empty house can run for days before anyone notices.

Businesses

Water in a commercial building costs you every hour you're closed. We answer commercial water emergencies 24/7 and offer after-hours water mitigation, so drying and cleanup can happen while your doors are closed. We work with hotels, property management companies, office buildings and churches. Our floor care team also cleans commercial carpet and tile by scheduled appointment, so we know how to keep a facility running during a job, and we can clean salvageable flooring once it's dry.

Frequently asked questions

How fast can you get here?

We answer water emergencies 24/7. In most of our service areas, a crew is on site within 2 hours, often sooner, depending on where you are.

What happens at the first visit?

We find the source of the water, classify it, and map the moisture in your floors, walls and ceilings. Then we explain what needs to happen. Before any work starts, you get an estimate and a written authorization to sign.

Are your technicians certified?

Our management and all lead technicians are IICRC certified, and every technician completes our 1-year training program.

Will my insurance cover this?

Only your insurance company can decide that. It depends on your policy and what caused the water, so we can't promise coverage, and we don't interpret policies or negotiate claims. What we do is document the source, the damage and every step of our work in detail and, with your OK, share those reports with your adjuster. We follow standard industry billing practices. For questions about your coverage, talk with your insurance agent or insurance company.

Do you do the repairs too?

No. We focus on water removal and drying, and we don't perform or guarantee repairs. When the structure is dry, we can refer you to reputable, licensed local companies that do this work all the time, and you hire whoever you choose directly. Our measurements help them give you an accurate repair estimate.

How long does drying take?

Usually from about 48 hours to a week, depending on how much water there was and what got wet. We do regular moisture checks until everything is dry, and only remove equipment when the readings confirm it.

Do I have to tear out my floors and walls?

Not always. We measure moisture first and remove only materials that can't be dried. When something has to come out, we measure it, photograph it, and explain why.

Do you clean up sewage backups?

Yes. We handle sewage and other contaminated-water jobs. We classify the water, set up containment and air filtration when needed, remove contaminated materials that can't be cleaned, and clean with HEPA vacuuming and antimicrobial products before drying, documenting each step.

I found mold. Can you help?

Call us and we'll check for water and moisture. We're not mold specialists and don't do mold testing or abatement. If materials are still wet, we handle it as part of water mitigation: wet materials that can't be dried come out, including any with mold on them, and we remove them safely using containment and air-quality procedures before drying the structure. If nothing is wet, we'll refer you to a company that can help. We always recommend a mold test after our work is completed, and we'll get you connected with a provider for that if needed.

Do you dry crawl spaces?

Yes. We extract water, remove wet materials that can't be dried, and set up drying equipment in crawl spaces as well as living areas.
